Good news, Detroit Country Music proofs arrived

Snapshot of Detroit Country Music book proofsToday marked another milestone, as the proofs of the forthcoming book, “Detroit Country Music – Mountaineers, Cowboys, and Rockabillies” arrived from University of Michigan Press today. No cover art to share yet, but the layout of its guts looks beautiful. We’re very excited to share the research we gathered over the past two decades, as well as some incredible images, many previously unpublished!

Next steps include proofreading and building the index. The finished book may be available in bookstores as soon as September. In the meantime, keep watching this site for more posts about the book and Car City Country.

And yes, in the book we answer the forty-seven-year-old question “What ever happened to Mt. Red?”

Congratulations on the proofs. I hope they read to your approval. Very soon your decade of hard work will be realized and the music world will be better off for it.
